I moved to Lehigh Acres a little over a year ago and I LOVE living on a farm. I loved it so much that I wanted to find a way to share it with other people. So I had been trying to come up with a way to open our farm to the community. I thought about trying to start a public garden or selling things from my farm, like eggs and goat milk, to the community. All these ideas were great, but were all lacking the happiness that I wanted to share.
One day on our farm, this amazing little goat was born. We named her Belle. Belle's mom was a goat that I had rescued and she was less than interested in being a momma goat, so Belle became my little bottle baby. She went everywhere with me! We had a bottle in the morning and then headed off to work. This is how I began to discover how I could share my farm. On our way to work, we drove thru a bagel place. I ordered and pulled up to the window with Belle resting in my lap. The look on the cashier face was such excitement and happiness as she asked if she could pet my adorable baby. I said "Of course!" and lifted her up toward the window. As I said she could hold her, she quickly scooped her from my arms. And this is where I began to love seeing how happy one little goat could make someone, and just about anyone! A few days later, we stopped at the pet store our way home, because what every adorable baby goat needs is a dress! What was meant to be a quick trip turned into over an hour of people petting, holding, and taking pictures with Belle. It was such an amazing experience to see all these beautiful, smiling faces. That is when I knew I had to share my love of goats with my community.
This is where Jenna came in to the picture. Jenna and I have known each other since we were in high school. She's been practicing yoga since I've known her. When I thought of who would teach yoga, I knew I wanted to have her as my partner in this venture. So I called Jenna up and explained this crazy idea. She just laughed at me! Then she said, "Let me meet your goats!". She's been an amazing teacher since we started classes in February. Since then we've been sharing love, light, and laughter with our community in a natural living environment.
